Earthquake victims commemorated in Japan
One minute's silence has been announced all over the country.
The Emperor of Japan and the Prime Minister have taken part in the mourning ceremony in the centre of Tokyo, informs RIA “Novosti”.
Let us remind you that a heavy earthquake followed by tsunami waves that reached 30-40 metres hit Japan on March 11, 2011. More than 19 thousand people were killed or went missing. 340 thousand people became homeless. The natural disaster caused a catastrophe at the NPP Fukushima-1. All the people were evacuated from the 20-km alienation zone. The consequences are expected to be liquidated only in 40 years.
