Bialiatski's arrest prolonged for 10 days

According to human rights defender Tatsiana Raviaka, Ales Bialiatski was transferred to the pre-trial detention center in Valadarski Street in Minsk. His wife managed to see him. She passed him food, clothes and hygienic supplies. Bialiatski feels good and does not look depressed.

Vice-President of the International Federation for Human Rights and leader of the unregistered human rights center "Viasna" Ales Bialiatski was arrested on August 4 in Minsk. His apartment and country-house were searched. The office of "Viasna" was also searched. The human rights defender is accused of tax evasion in especially big scope. He faces up to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, BelaPAN reports.
