Belarusian weightlifter becomes European Champion
Alena Chichkan of Belarus won the 58kg event at the 2013 Senior European Weightlifting Championships in Tirana, Albania on 10 April.
According
to BELTA, the
19-year-old pressed a total of 213kg (95kg in the snatch + 118 in the clean and
jerk).
Alena Chichkan also secured minor golden medals in each of the separate
disciplines - in the clean and jerk.
Alena Chichkan’s medal is the first for the Belarusian team at this year’s
European championship. The leaders of our national team could not come to this
contest.
