Belarusian: Tickets from Japan to Moscow are twice expensive than usual
Belarusians do not want to fly from Tokyo to Khabarovsk, as they will have to return to their Homeland by themselves from there.
Tatsiana Tsahelnik has studied in Japan for 5 years. Now she
is waiting for the Japanese Ministry of Education to buy her a ticket to
Belarus. At the moment, the girl has decided to leave Tokyo and now lives in
Kyoto.
Tsahelnik: "I
am in Kyoto now, 500 kilometers from Tokyo to the West. It is unknown what will
happen to the NPP, as the earthquakes continue, although they are not big".
The girl says that the only thing she knows about the NPP is that they are trying
to pour water onto reactors. As for Kyoto, where she is now, the situation is
quiet there.
Tsahelnik: "It
is very quiet here, and in Tokyo as well, I was in Tokyo several days ago. The
only thing is, there was a lack of water in shops. But the people are quiet.
People are talking about the NPP but no one even tries to protect himself from
radiation".
According to Tatsiana, the Belarusians in Japan are trying to leave for their Homeland,
but it is difficult to buy tickets: many people leave Japan now. Let us remind
you, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that our citizens did
not want to take free Russian flights to Khabarovsk, several days ago.
Tsahelnik: "I
only know that there have been, I guess, two planes from Tokyo to Moscow. As
for Khabarovsk planes, I don’t know the details but I heard there had been
some. I am not sure they are free. My
friend from Russia got a phone call from the Russian Embassy. They told her
there was an opportunity to fly to Moscow but the tickets were twice more
expensive than usual in this season. I heard there had been free flights to Khabarovsk,
but as far as I understand, Belarusians do not want to fly to Khabarovsk. As it
is almost the same to get to Minsk from Khabarovsk, as from Japan. The only
thing I know is that there will be a flight to Kyiv tomorrow, and Belarusians
can take it".
The girl says that Belarusian diplomats were the most attentive to their
countrymen when there was the biggest tension in Japan. The Embassy has sent no
information for the last several days.
