Bantsar: Hrodna prisoners continue hunger strike
There may become more hunger-strikers in the detention center in Hrodna in case illegal detentions in the streets do not stop.
Let us remind you, administrative detention of Ihar Bantsar, journalist and member of the Union of Poles in Belarus, expired today. He was on hunger-strike together with other detainees for the silent protest action. Bantsar has informed in a conversation with Euroradio that they used water, and their number is likely to increase:
“Journalist Ales Dzianisau was on a hunger strike together with me. There were also just activists. For the last several days, I shared the cell with Zmitser Bandarchuk, who was also on a hunger-strike. There were three hunger-strikers this time. When I walked out of prison I told the guards that if the situation with illegal detentions continued there would be half of prisoners or all of them on a hunger-strike”.
Bantsar noted that he felt okay after the hunger strike.
