Annual carnival starts in Venice

In accordance with the concept of the carnival, all squares, streets, channels and bridges of Venice will turn into theatrical stages for the nearest days, and dozens of performances will be shown there.

According to RBK, the holiday started in San Marco Square where they had installed a fountain with red wine. Also, a 9-meters high wooden statue of a bull was built near the entrance to the Great Channel. The statue will be burnt down on the last day of the carnival, which is February 21.

One of the carnival's most picturesque events will take place on Saturday, February 11. An "angel" will come down to the crowd from the 100-meters high bell tower. This show is usually the most popular one at the carnival.
