Advertiser Lyashkevich makes "Prison Calendar"

Advertiser Julia Lyashkevich and designer BabaZaba advise the Belarusians to post the "Prison Calendar" in a conspicuous place in order not to forget about the political prisoners and for better understanding of how much time people waste during imprisonment. This is how Julia explained the aim of creation of this calendar in a conversation with Euroradio.

Julia Lyashkevich: "We read about the terms of imprisonment - two, three years, and think - what's two-three years?" So I wanted to make a calendar which would remind about the unfairly imprisoned people, who must be released, every day. I wanted to visualize this mass - when we speak about three years - this is a number and a word. I wanted the people to see how long it really is. A whole day makes one little line. When you are in prison it means - the day that has been stolen from you. I wanted the people to see it, visually".

They plan to print the calendar, but not many copies - the creators do not have money for a big lot. However, they allow everyone to print it out themselves, so they published a specially elaborated file for printing in the Internet.

The original size of the calendar is 1 meter. Then the names of the political prisoners, placed at the bottom, are not only clearly seen, but there also comes understanding how these "daily lines of the prison regime" press them. The calendar is made in two languages - there are Belarusian and Russian variants.
