Putin wants Egypt to join Customs Union

The members of the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) are studying the possibility of creation a free trade zone with Egypt, the Russian President claimed. Egypt is ready to increase agricultural products supplies to Russia by 30% soon, Putin said.

The Russian leader said that the countries had agreed to simplify the access of Egyptian goods to the Russian market, BBC reports. The Russia-Egypt negotiations are caused by the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia earlier and the measures taken by the Russian government in response to them – the Russian import from the western countries was restricted.
