Public works for 1-2 days a month a must for Minsk's jobless

Мінскіх беспрацоўных абавяжуць удзельнічаць у грамадскіх працах 1-2 дні на месяц

Minsk unemployed will have to participate in public works for 1 or 2 days a month in 2016. They will be paid for their work. Minsk City Executive Committee has published the decision taken on December 10, 2015 on the National Legal Internet portal.

Minsk unemployed will have to take part in public works for at least two days in May-September, one day in January-April and April-December.

Employment centres will organize such work days ‘to relive the stress at local labour markets’. It will allow employers to compensate for the seasonal lack of workers and citizens will be able to make some money, BELTA reports.

Unemployed citizens not registered in labour centres will also be able to participate in these works. If the unemployed refuse to do the obligatory public works, they will lose their dole.
