Famous pianist and football club co-founder dies during marathon

Famous pianist and co-founder of FC Krumkachy Yuri Blinov died during a 21km marathon in Homel on April 21, TUT.by reports. Yuri died 5 metres off the finish line. The doctors working at the marathon were unable to save his life.

5 000 people took part in the half marathon. All of them underwent a medical check-up before joining the race.

Yuri Blinov was the first Belarusian pianist who performed in Carnegie Hall. He was born in Drahichyn in the south-west of Belarus. Blinov won the Prokofiev Competition in Saint Petersburg at the age of 17. He graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Music and got the D.M.A. at Eastman Academy of Music. He was a laureate of numerous international contests and the President of the International Association of Pianists And Composers.

 

Yuri was one of the founders of FC Krumkachy. He helped football players return to the higher league.
