Opposition parties compete for football trophey at Karpenka Cup tournament
The 11th football tournament titled Freedom Cup is taking place in Minsk to commemorate prominent Belarusian statesman Genadz Karpenka. Six teams from the United Civil Party, the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, the Belarusian Party of Communists and others are split into two groups. The best will play in semi-finals.
The team uniting media professionals was the winner in the past four year. The United Civil Party won the Freedom Cup three times, while the Karpenka Foundation, the Belarusian Popular Front and the Conservative Christians were the winners one time, according to Belapan.
