Number of Minskers is increasing while number of Belarusians is decreasing
The number of Belarusians is 9 million 671 thousand 400 people as of January 1, 2009. The number of inhabitants of our country has decreased by 18400 people in comparison with the last year.
Only the population of Minsk keeps growing – it has increased from 1 million 814.8 people to 1 million 828.9 thousands. The number of inhabitants of the other regions has decreased. 107 thousand 900 children were born in Belarus last year. It is 4500 babies more than last year, informs BelTA.
