No meeting planned between Orthodox, Catholic leaders
Archbishop
Illarion, head of the Church Relations Office at the Moscow Patriarchate of the
Russian Orthodox Church, has denied rumors that Patriarch Kirill, head of the
Russian Orthodox Church, plans to meet with Pope Benedict XVI. "No preparations are under way for a trip to the Vatican City or for the
patriarch's meeting with the pope in some specific place and time," RIA
Novosti quoted Archbishop Illarion as saying.
He added, however, that work was under way to make
such a meeting possible.
