National anti-doping laboratory to be launched in May

The national anti-doping laboratory will start working in May. It will be situated in the Baraulyany settlement not far from Minsk, on the territory of Belarusian Medical Academy of Advanced Studies. BelaPAN informed about it referring to the Minster of Sports and Tourism Alyaksandr Hryharau.
Hryharau stressed that not a single Belarusian sportsman who was going to participate in the Olympics in China would take the plane to Beijing until they went through thorough doping control procedures.

At first the laboratory will be used for “internal purposes” and then the procedure of its international accreditation will start. Only one specialist has gone through the whole access course and the second one is “on the way”. The staff will consist of 16 people. They will be trained in Moscow and in Cologne. The creation of the laboratory will cost 9.9 million USD.
