The creation of a large mural portrait of the Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatski has begun in Vilnius. According to LRT.lt, the portrait of Bialiatski will look at the Belarusian embassy from the facade of Simonas Daukantas gymnasium.

The project was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. The idea was supported by associates of the imprisoned human rights activist from the center "Viasna." Artists will paint the mural from the "Kiaurai sieńs" laboratory and the "Gyva Grafika" collective.

The mural is expected to be finished by midweek.
