Minsk to have 9 satellite cities
They will be divided into three groups: industrial – Koidanava, Zhodzina, Fanipal; agroindustrial – Smalyavichy, Stoubtsy, Uzda, Rudzenk; and tourist’s and recreational – Zaslauye and Lahoisk. The creation of satellite cities is provided for in the State programme for construction of large residential areas for Minskers and transfer of industrial objects from the capital to other residential areas. The programme was approved in decree #976 signed by the Belarusian Council of Ministers, informs BelTA.
18 industrial objects not corresponding to the terms of the general plan of the Belarusian capital are supposed to be moved to other industrial areas in Minsk or beyond it by 2020.
