Information ministry to define freelancers, boost Belarusian content on TV
The Ministry of Information plans to define freelancers when it comes to the media field regulation, Information Minister Aliaksandr Karliukevich told STV. The work of freelancers is currently not recognized and or regulated in Belarus.
"I believe time has come to reconsider the notion of ‘freelancers,’ to discuss it and come up with propositions. We will listen to the journalistic community,” the minister said.
The Ministry of Information is also drafting a Council of Ministers resolution on boosting the production of Belarusian content on the state-run TV channels. Both the Ministry of Information and representatives of the television community are working on the document at the moment, Karliukevich said. He also promised the draft would be made available for a public discussion soon.
