MFA: No discussion for Belarus to join Russia's sanctions against EU
Belarus' Foreign Ministry spokesman reckons Russian foreign minister Lavrov simply pointed at a hypothetical possibility to join anti-EU sanctions.
Kazakhstan and Belarus can join Russia's sanctions against the European Union, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with RIA-Novosti news agency.
However, Belarusian MFA said the issue was not on agenda. Commenting to Radio Svaboda, Belarusian MFA's spokesman Dzmitry Mironchyk noted: "If Russia does not rule out that such a need may emerge in the future, this is the position of the Russian side. Russia has this right just like Belarus has the right to raise various issues on the agenda of integration unions."
The Belarusian diplomacy spokesman reckons the Russian minister simply pointed at this possibility in the framework of the Customs Union that Russia can raise this issue on agenda.
