MFA comments on diplomatic scandal: Gerashchenko can visit Minsk

The Belarusian MFA has commented on the problems that Ukraine’s representative Irina Gerashchenko had in Belarus when crossing the border to take part in the Minsk Group negotiations. The problem has been solved: MFA spokesperson Dzmitry Mironchyk said.

Mironchyk: "Gerashchenko can visit Minsk without problems to take part in the negotiations of the Trilateral Group on Ukraine. Belarus is doing everything to organize the negotiations in comfortable conditions.”

Irina Gerashchenko has only been allowed to enter Belarus until May 25, accordng to the website quoting the Vice Speaker of Ukraine's Parliament.

The Ukrainian representative encountered problems when she arrived in Belarus, Euroradio reported. Frontier guards refused to let her enter Belarus because she was blacklisted in Russia. Belarus and Russia apparently share information on blacklisted persons.
