MAZ holding factories shut down for two weeks
Minsk Automobile Plant and BelavtoMAZ holding companies will shut down operations from 25 December to 11 January. In addition to MAZ's maion production line in Minsk, opertations will also be put to a halt at the factories in Baranavichy and Asipovichy.
According to the workers, the majority of employees of the holding are on unpaid leaves - about 20 thousand people. They are given only 500 thousand rubles for energy savings. On some days, a certain number of workers will come to work.
According to Radio Liberty, not all big enterprises shut down for long winter holidays. For example, the Minsk Tractor Plant is working regularly: people there have usual weekend days off.
