Makey notes serious crisis of OSCE (video)
He said this at a meeting with OSCE Chairman Ivica Dacic.
On July 21, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Uladzimir Makey met with OSCE Chairman, Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dacic. During the meeting, the Belarusian diplomat said: "The Ukrainian conflict showed that the OSCE is in a serious crisis."
According to Makey, the problem is the lack of trust between the countries - members of the OSCE. "It is necessary to hold a serious discussion about the future of the OSCE, about reformatting of its structure and activity," BelaPAN quoted the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. He believes that it is important in this international organization to achieve withdrawal from mutual accusations and claims and find a unifying framework for the activities of the OSCE.
In turn, Ivica Dacic praised Belarus' participation in solving the Ukrainian crisis. Serbian Foreign Minister added that the relations between our countries are developing well. Leaders of the countries are expected to meet this year.
Dacic's visit to Minsk was organized for him to participate in a trilateral meeting of the contact group in Ukraine. It will be held today in the afternoon.
