Makei hopes for further Belarus-EU cooperation

Uladzimir Makei is hoping for further Belarus-EU cooperation. The Belarusian Minister for Foreign Affairs attended an informal meeting of the EU and Eastern Partnership Ministers in Bratislava on September 3.

 

Makei described Belarus’ approach to the further development of the Eastern Partnership at the meeting, the MFA press service reports. He suggested using the cooperation between the EaP and EU as an instrument of development ‘taking national priorities into account in order to strengthen safety, stability and prosperity in the region’.

The Belarusian Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed a hope for the expansion of the constructive dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation between the European Union and Belarus ‘including the beginning of negotiations of the basic Belarus-EU agreement’.
