On November 12, Minsk hosted a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Lithuania Uladzimir Makei and Linas Linkevičius. As Makei stated, they had discussed the issue of the cooperation of Belarus and the European Union against the backdrop of the suspension of sanctions. "We hope that the logic of the EU sanctions will go into oblivion," BelaPAN quotes the words of the Belarusian Minister.

Linkevičius stressed that the suspension of EU sanctions against Belarus "is an opportunity to reinforce the positive things that have been built together." According to him, it is not necessary to go back to the past, but it is necessary to eliminate the causes that hindered relations between Minsk and Brussels.

Lithuanian Minister noted that Lithuania supports the early progress in the preparation of the agreement on simplification of visa regime between Belarus and the EU.
