Lukashenka wants to become “parallel President” of Union State
Alyaksandr Lukashenka is ready to unite Belarus and Russia if he is given a certain post in its administration. A famous Russian political scientist, deputy of the State Council of the party “United Russia” Sergei Markov, made the announcement.
According to Markov, Russia supports a quick unification of the two countries. But Lukashenka did not like the Russian civil pattern and the position was offered in the Union State.
Sergei Markov is sure that Lukashenka does not have the chance to become the leader of the Union State he used to have in Yeltsin’s time.
t Moscow offered the Belarusian leader the post of Prime Minister or Vice President. But Alyaksandr Lukashenka wants to combine the two posts and thus become “a parallel President”.
“But Moscow cannot allow it. So the question is still up in the air”, - said Markov in his interview with BelaPAN.
