Lukashenka signs decree on targeted social aid

Alexander Lukashenka on December 14 signed his decree "On some measures of the state support to the population"..

According to the press office of the Belarusian president, the state support to the population will be granted in the form of the targeted social assistance as monthly or one-off payments.

The aid will be provided to buy foodstuffs, medications, technical tools for the social rehabilitation, clothes, footwear, public transport fares, school tools and "other needs essential for a normal living".

Both the families and citizens that live separately with an average income not exceeding 100 percenjt of the highest minimal wage due to objective reasons over the past two quarters are entitled to this social aid. The decree will come into force on December 17, when former social benefits will be invalidated.
