Lukashenka admits sacking best governor

He wants to check whether the government is fulfilling his demands. “It should not be done by the President, but there is nothing else to do because the government does not work,” Interfax.by quotes Lukashenka’s words pronounced during his visit to Keramin.

Lukashenka recalled his Friday visit to Borisovdrev when he sacked a number of officials. “They did not keep their promises,” he explained.

In particular, the Belarusian President recalled the dismissal of head of Minsk Province Executive Committee Barys Batura. “Batura was not the worst governor. He was one of the best,” Lukashenka claimed.” He decided to sack Batura because he had failed to fulfil his promises made a year before, he explained.

The President demanded that head of Minsk City Executive Committee Mikalai Ladutska should warn heads of district administrations about the necessity to fulfil demands and keep their territories in order.
