London bus drivers go on strike

A 24-hour strike of bus drivers has begun in London. About 27 thousand people may take part in it, British mass media think.

Drivers are dissatisfied with unequal payment for their work. The local trade union Unite has organized the strike. According to Unite, drivers get different sums for doing the same job in different companies.

Only 44 out of 637 bus routes will be available in the British capital on January 13, RBK reports. By the way, not all drivers support the trade union’s initiative. The action may aggravate the existing traffic problems in London, they think.
