Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs to visit Belarus today

The Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Riekstins will pay a working visit to Belarus today.
According to the press service of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affaires, it is the first visit of the foreign ministry to Belarus.

The programme of the visit includes Riekstins’ meeting with Alyaksandr Lukashenka, PM Syarhei Sidorski and Minister of Foreign Affairs Syarhei Martynau.

Issues of bilateral cooperation, development of economic cooperation and of relations of Belarus and the European Union will be discussed during the negotiations. Furthermore, Riekstins is planning to meet representatives of a non-governmental organization “Belarusian Helsinki Committee” and hold a lecture on the Eastern Partnership in Belarusian State University, notes BelaPAN.
