Karen Stewart does not hope to return to Belarus soon

The US Ambassador to Belarus claimed that she was not sure whether she would be able to return to Belarus soon in an on-line conference organized by “Radio Liberty”. The US administration is considering the insistent demand of Minsk to reduce the staff of the American Embassy. Karen Stewart said that Washington “did not consider the demand to be grounded”. The Ambassador confirmed the readiness of the USA to improve bilateral relations with Belarus if the authorities of the country release political prisoners. “The release of political prisoners is a step opening the door to improvement of relations in all senses”, - stressed Karen Stewart.

Let us remind you that Karen Stewart left Belarus last week. She thought she would be able to return to Belarus in 2 or 3 weeks.
