Investigation of Baumgertner's case extended by two months

This is reported by BelaPAN citing the head of the Public Information Office at the Investigatory Committee of Belarus Pavel Travulka.



The lawyers told the journalists that investigatory actions involving the lawyers of defense were appointed for this week. They are studying the documents now.



On August 26, the Investigatory committee announced investigation of a number of criminal cases against the managers of the Belarusian Potash Company CJSC. Chairman of the Supervision Council Vladislav Baumgertner, who arrived to Minsk to meet with Belarusian PM Mikhail Myasnikovich, was arrested on the same day. The Russian manager stays under house arrest, the others have been put on the wanted list.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka says Baumgertner can be extradited to Russia if they recompense the damage. The Belarusian investigatory authorities evaluated the damage at $100 million.
