Inflation in January at 2.4% when prices were frozen

In January 2015, the prices of goods and services rose by 2.4% compared to December 2014. According to the National Statistics Committee, as reported by BELTA,  compared to January 2014, prices rose by 17.1%.

Inflation in January was 2.4%. The government introduced a ban on price rise this month. If this trend continues and every month inflation will be at 2.4%, over the year, it could reach almost 30%. At the same time, the inflation rate for 2014 was 14.7%.

In January, food prices rose by 1.8%, prices of non-food products rose by 2.4%, prices for services rose by 3.9%.
