Historians in Belarus express solidarity with censored colleagues
Commenting on his decision to the European Radio for Belarus, the historian noted that he could not understand why two history professors were denied access to a scientific conference. They were not expected to make any political statements:
"This is censorship. I don't understand why they are doing it. I also know that some pressure has been put on the conference organizers to mkae them realize that it should not be one in this manner", Holubeu said.
He also stressed the importance of solidarity with the historians in this situation. Holubey said it is a shame that Smalenchuk and Krautsevich were barred from speaking at this conference.
