Hectares of corn not harvested near Brest (photo)
Fields of an agricultural co-operative society “Frontier Guard” are not harvested and stretch to Brest. Agricultural workers have failed to repair an old combine there. Local inhabitants are trying to collect the crop for personal purposes.
The head of the neighbouring successful society hardly managed to avoid dismissal according to a presidential order due to 100 metres of cornfield covered with snow three years ago. However, there are a lot of unharvested fields this year and many hectares will be covered in snow in “Frontier Guard”.
The administration of “Frontier Guard” has explained to ERB: “Every enterprise can encounter problems. We also have a problem. This is a problem of bumper crop”.
