Graffiti artists detained in Minsk

Witnesses told Radio Svaboda that initially two police officers came to the artists. Two police vehicles later arrived as well. The graffiti artists tried to sort the situation out right on the spot but eventually ended up in a detention van.

The artists belong to the graffiti community called Signal. Their representative told Radio Svaboda that the three artists were taken to Partyzanski district police station and later to the district court.

With this graffiti portrait of Belarus' renowned writer Vasil Bykau in a central Minsk's backyard, the detained artists wanted to mark his 90th birthday anniversary.
