Former high-ranking president's administration official sentenced to 8 years in prison

The Supreme Court of Belarus has sentenced Uladzimir Kholad, the former deputy head of the main ideological department at the Office of the President to 8 years in prison. Under the ruling, his property will also be confiscated for the sake of the state, reports Interfax.
Kholad was found guilty of embezzlement and graft. He will also be banned from occupying public office for the period of five years. Kholad has been stripped of his military rank.
