FM Makei about Lukashenka's son: I don't think president is readying a successor

Уладзімір Макей пра Мікалая Лукашэнку: не думаю, што прэзідэнт рыхтуе пераемніка

Mikalai Lukashenka is "an ordinary pupil. He goes to an ordinary, one can say, village school," Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei replied to a question about Aliaksandr Lukashenka's youngest son in an interview with the Polish newspaper Rzechpospolita. The script of the interview with Minister Makei  was published today on the website of Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Makei noted that he met with Mikalai Lukashenka. "We do not meet often but sometimes at functions. I know the president's attitude to what his children should deal with. I am not going to comment on this situation," the diplomat said.

The president has already spoekn out on this. He would not wish the same fate he has. The Belarus president often travels with Kolya - perhaps simply because he loves him so much that he cannot bear without him. So, I absolutely don't think that the president is preparing a successor in this way."
