Ex-presidential contender Ivan Kulikou detained for 72 hours

The ex-presidential contender Ivan Kulikou has been detained for 72 hours after the interrogation in the Zavodzki district administration of internal affairs of Minsk, BelaPAN reports.

A 61-year-old master of technical sciences and the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences Professor Kulikou arrived to the investigator's office upon the summon. They allowed him to call home and to inform there would be a search in his apartment. Nothing was confiscated during the search. It is unknown in the framework of which case Kulikou has been detained. 

Kulikou lives in Sosny settlement, he is a chief of the laboratory for equipment for nuclear power installations of the United Institute of Energy and Nuclear Researches "Sosny". He is a widower and has two sons and a daughter.

Kulikou registered a nomination group but did not submit signatures for his nomination as a presidential candidate.
