Entrepreneurs continue protests in Mahilyou
About 150 entrepreneurs today gathered in front of the Town Hall at the central square in the city of Mahilyou to back the demands to the government and the president of Belarus. Radio Svaboda reports that the demands include two major issues: to announce a moratorium on the president's decreee No 760 until a law on small- and medium-size businesses is passed and to expedite the passing of this legislation.
The demands were forwarded to Minsk. Entrepreneurs agreed to gather again on January 10 in order to back entrepreneurs in Minsk who are expected to stage a similar protest on October Square.
On January 1, entrepreneurs in Belarus launched a strike, protesting against the president's decree No 760 which bans them from employing other people than their close relatives and family members.
