Editor-in-chief of “Hazeta Slonimskaya” is summoned to military registration and enlistment office and mental hospital
Slonim affiliate of KGB has decided to exercise pressure on the editor-in-chief of an independent newspaper “Hazeta Slonimskaya” with the help of psychiatrists. The head of the local mental hospital received an order to examine Victar Valadashchuk and his family.
The journalist has also received call-up papers. He was promised to be sent to work with secret documents. In connection with it they demanded that V. Valadashchuk should sign documents allowing security agencies to interfere in his private life.
Valadashchuk: "I will not sign those documents. It is some lie. I think it is one more way of doing away with the newspaper. They are trying to dismiss me for some time…”
The tax inspectorate is getting ready for a check-up of “Hazeta Slonimskaya” too. And the local district executive committee will consider the issue of prolonging the edition’s license for commercial activities one of these days.
