Dozens of children admitted to hospital with food poisoning in Talachyn

VICEBSK -- A total of 31 students from the School No1 in the town of Talachyn, Vicebsk region, were admitted with food poisoning to a local hospital over the past two days. It is yet to be determined what was the cause of the massive illness. Sausages and meat cakes, served in a school canteen the day before, are suspected to be the source of the infection. Medical experts are still probing the food, but according to the local chief doctor Mikalaj Piatkevich, he is confident that it was food-poisoning, not an infection.

The first graders are the most hit category with 19 of them already in a hospital. Doctors said nothing was theatening the life of the children.
