Director of “Homel”: Our hockey clubs have never received so much money

A Canadian club “Montreal Canadians” has placed 200 thousand dollars to the account of a hockey club “Homel”. Thus the NHL team thanked the club for having participated in the training of a Navapolatsk hockey player Syarhei Kastsitsyn who has been included in the regular team of “Montreal” this year.
This is what the director of “Homel” hockey club Ihar Malchanau said in an interview with ERB:

"There is an agreement between the International Hockey Federation and NHL. According to it, if a European player signs a contract an joins an NHL team, a maximum sum of 200 thousand dollars is paid".

The money will be used for training young sportsmen. There are 800 of them in the club now.

Іgar Malchanau says that Belarusian clubs have never received such a compensation for preparation of hockey players before:

"I cannot think of any analogy. The club did not receive any compensation for Andrei Kastsitsyn or for Mihail Hrabouski. They joined NHL when they were in Russian clubs. It is the first time such a deal has been performed in the Republic of Belarus”.
