Crimean Parliament to ask Moscow to let autonomy join Russia
The Parliament has made the decision today, on March 6.
"The autonomy would like to join the Russian Federation as it object,” RIA Novosti reports.
Crimean vice PM Rustam Temergaliyev announced that the referendum would be conducted earlier than March 30 – on March 16. Two questions will be asked: Do you support the idea of Crimea joining the Russian Federation? and Do you support the Constitution of 1992?
According to the Constitution of 1992, the republic is part of Ukraine and their relations are based on agreements and treaties.
The Crimean Parliament will send its appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federal Council. Russia will be ready to discuss the corresponding bill next week, the State Duma announced.
