Court cuts freelancer's fine in half

Homiel Regional Court supported the freelance journalist Kanstantsin Zhukousky, who appealed against the decision of the Zhlobin district court judge Valyantsina Saponava. As a result, the judge Vasil Byahun reduced the penalty for Zhukousky in half - from 16.8 million rubles to 8.4 million.

According to the site "Homiel Spring", the regional district judge corrected his colleague. In the Zhlobin court Zhukovsky was tried for joined offenses, although the law demands to apply the rule of repetition.

Homiel activist Leanid Sudalenka said that the regional judge corrected the mistake made by the district judge.
