China opens market for Belarus-produced beef

Over 20 agricultural enterprises in Belarus will be able to export beef to China, according to the results of the talks that ended in Minsk. 

Belarusian deputy agriculture minister Aliaksandr Subotsin says that 36 Belarusian dairies have received certificates to supply milk to China. The contracts with Chinese companies to supply Belarusian dairy products are worth of over %13 million. "21 Belarusian enterprises are finalizing the process of beef ceritification. 5 more eneprises will also get certified to export poultry," Subotsin is quoted by BELTA as saying. The deliveries of Belarusian beef and poultry may begin within the next several weeks. SB. Belarus Segodnya newspaper notes that the next step in cooperation with China will be certification of fresh-water fish from Belarus.

Over the five months of 2017, the exports of Belarusian agricultural products amounted to $1.938 billion, 28% up against the same period last year.
