Businessman Shygalov arrested with his deputies
The police detained businessman Evgeny Shygalov together with his deputies. One state official in charge of allocating land plots to developers was also arrested, said Belarus Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau. Evgeny Shygalov, the chairman of the board, Zhdanovichy Trading Center, is facing charges of illegally using land plots on the territory of the Zhdanovichy market place. The minister has confirmed that the buisinessman is being held at a police custody on Volodarsky Street in Minsk.
The Belapan news agency reports that Shygalov is a member of the committee that found the pro-presidential public association, Belaya Rus. He is also a deputy chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation. He is a close associate of Mikhail Paulau, the Mayor of Minsk.
Shygalov's case has been investigated by the General Prosecutor's Office.
