Riot police force disbanded in Ukraine
Ukraine's interior minister Arsen Avakov says he has disbanded the elite Berkut police unit blamed for the the deaths of protesters.
Avakov has announced it on Facebook, censor.net.ua reports.
"THERE IS NO BERKUT ANYMORE. I have signed order #144 of February 25, 2014 ‘On liquidation of the riot police Berkut’ (more details will be provided at a special briefing tomorrow),” the Minister said.
