Belarus to get $1 billion from World Bank

Belarus may get a $1 billion credit from the World Bank in April or May 2009. The head of the administration of the National Bank of Belarus Pyotr Prakapovich has claimed it.
According to him, they “are working” with the World Bank at the moment. The Belarusian authorities have started negotiations about the necessity of allocation of resources of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It is planned to receive them by July.

However, this will not be the last credit. Prakapovish also informed that the National Bank was going to ask several major European Banks for credits, informs “Interfax”.
