Automobilists dissatisfied with "Belneftehim"'s letter

The director of the informational-educational organization "For Auto!" Artsiom Sharkou has informed about this.

The organization addressed to the President's administration, the concern "Belneftehim" and the Council of Ministers with regard to petrol price increase.

Sharkou: "We received the response yesterday morning, before we have found out about the new prices increase. The response contains no useful information. The main thing that they said was that fuel was a socially important good, that is why the prices for it were controlled, and the enterprises like "Belneftehim" worked without profit. However, the prices will be controlled further on, that is why "Belneftehim" will work on increase of their profitability. It was also stated that the prices were regulated by our tax legislation, as well as the President's decree No. 72. And that cost of the fuel itself makes the biggest part of the price - 85%".

The automobilists are preparing street flash-mobs in response.

Sharkou: "We will organize and conduct the flash-mob called "Stop Petrol! Automobile is not a luxury, but means of transportation" at the parking space near "Karona" supermarket at 6 p.m. today. We are going to gather at this parking space, we'll carry around petrol containers with our logos on them, and talk to people, thus steering interest to this action".

They are also preparing a street action on April 14. According to Sharkou, the action will take place in 10 cities of the country. The action will have special decoration.

Sharkou: "We urge drivers to apply our logos on the cars - the logos of the "Stop Petrol!" campaign - so that the people could see these are our cars. During the action we will turn on the hazard warning lights".

Alongside with that, the organizers claim that their actions are safer than the opposition's actions - this is just an automobile trip. If the authorities start stopping the participants of the action they will block the movement in the city roads.
