Anonymous wages war on city that acquitted rapist

Hackers will defend the girls, the statement released by Anonymous says. Messages about this case can be found on Twitter, #OpMaryville.

The hackers replied to the report about the possible rape of two teenage girls, aged 13 and 14, published by The Kansas City Star. The girls ran away from home to meet Matthew Barnett, 17-year-old student of the same college (the senator’s grandson) and his friend on the night January 8, 2012. One of the girls, Daisy Coleman, drank too much at Barnett’s house and Matthew raped her. His friend raped the other girl and one of their acquaintances made a video of everything that was happening.

Then Barnett brought Coleman home and left her on the threshold. The temperature was almost zero degrees Celsius and her daughter’s hair froze to the floor by the morning, Melinda Coleman (Daisy’s mother) said.

The police started investigating the case and brought charges against Matthew Barnett. The other suspect’s case was sent to the Juvenile Court because the teenager was 15 years old. However, all the charges were lifted soon afterwards and the family started receiving anonymous threats. Daisy’s mother was sacked and their house burnt down after they had left the city. She thinks that is may be connected with the interference of Matthew Barnett’s relatives, Lenta.ru reports.
