The Belarusian community of America has marked the 65th anniversary of the legendary migration edition. Such people as Leanid Halyak, Lyavon Savyonak, Mihas Mitsekvich (Yakub Kolas’ brother), poet Natallya Arsenneva, Vitaut Tumash, Stanislau Stankevich, Yanka Zaprudnik, Zora Kipel, Marat Klakotski and other people were its editors-in-chief.

BNR leader Ivonka Survila, the World Alliance of Belarusians, Batskawshchyna and Belarusians living in Canada and Australia congratulated the edition on the anniversary. A letter containing best wishes arrived even from occupied Crimea, editor Hanna Surmach said.

Famous emigration activist Vital Kipel was an honorary guest at the birthday party.  The newspapers Belarusian and Batskawshchyna  (Germany) have helped unite Belarusian emigrants. The newspaper is unique because it is printed using donations only. The Kipels have donated $1000 to the edition.

Alexander University Library in New Jersey suggested digitizing all the issues of Belarusian. It means that the newspaper may appear on the Internet.
